Lord of Chaos - Review

Lord of Chaos (Book 6) is a great continuation in The Wheel of Time series. It had its low moments and I had some issues with the structure of the book but there was some good character development with Rand and Egwene, awesome reunions between many characters, shocking moments, and yet another phenomenal finale. This will be a non-spoiler review and it will be covered in 5 sections. Characters, Plot, Setting/World-Building, Pacing, and my final thoughts along with a rating. Image: Sammael (1 of the 13 Forsaken). [Characters]: The 2 main focal points of this book are Rand and Egwene, with Nynaeve, Mat, and Perrin also getting a handful of chapters. This is the darkest story arc for Rand in the series so far. Norse Mythology - Review

Norse Mythology is a solid retelling of the Norse myths and it’s a very quick, digestible read. It starts off funny and light-hearted but it takes a dark and gruesome turn later on in the book, and it all culminates into an epic battle and a poetic finale. I did have my issues with some plot holes and the pacing of the earlier portion of the book, but it’s a great introduction to anyone interested in learning about the Norse gods. Dune Messiah - Review

Dune Messiah is a drastic departure from the 1st book in the Dune series. It’s much less epic in scope, it’s darker in tone, the cast of characters has decreased significantly, and the story in general takes a completely different turn than expected. It’s a much more personal and intimate story that is a deconstruction of the “Prophesied Hero/The Chosen One” trope rather than the epic and drama-filled space-opera that the 1st book was. I didn’t feel the grandiose nature and momentous suspense and tension like I did with Dune , but I think it’s a very underrated book considering most of the fandom considers this to be the worst book in the series. It still has tons of political intrigue and has some spectacular moments near the end of the book. The World of Ice & Fire - Review

The World of Ice & Fire was an amazing journey from beginning to end. The illustrations throughout the book were just gorgeous and I've never seen a better collection of art in a book. It's like George R.R. Martin was Nick Fury & gathered the Avengers of Sci-Fi/Fantasy illustrators to work on this book. Even the packaging & design of this book was awesome. The cover, the material the book was made out of, and the pages had the design of a historical tome which gave some real authenticity and specialty to this book. It made me feel like I was a scholar, or more fitting, a Maester of the Citadel just doing some leisurely reading. It's hard to go into details about the histories and events itself because it will not only spoil this book, but also spoil stuff in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series for those who haven't read it yet, so I have stayed away from that & this will be more like a breakdown of the cont...

Knife of Dreams - Review

Knife of Dreams (Book 11) is a triumphant return to form for the series after 3 middling books that were part of “The Slog”. Robert Jordan really flexes his action prowess in this book, so much so that even the first 20 pages of the prologue felt like it had more action than the entirety of Crossroads of Twilight (Book 10) . It’s not only packed with great action sequences, but also a lot of crazy plot twists, revelations, and tons of suspenseful moments. There’s also a ton of payoffs, as a lot of lingering questions are answered. This book also ties up a lot of loose plot threads and wraps up the story arcs that have started since The Path of Daggers (Book 8) . For those of you who might still be reading through “The Slog” and checking this review out, it’s all worth it if you just stick with it and get to this book.
